About Collect 2024

We are delighted that you are applying to take part in the 20th edition of Collect: the leading international fair for contemporary craft and design.

For 2024 Collect will return to its stunning London home of Somerset House, a leading venue for arts and culture located in the centre of the capital overlooking the River Thames.   Collect 2024 will take place from 01 March to 03 March (Previews 28 and 29 February). 

Continuing our successful partnership with Artsy.net, Collect 2024 will once again take the form of a hybrid fair, providing increased exposure to international audiences.

The setting - Somerset House

A striking Grade 1 listed neoclassical building, Somerset House provides a stunning backdrop where contemporary craft can be displayed in a fully immersive interiors setting. Flooded with natural light featuring polished wooden floors, high ceilings, historic fireplaces and beautiful architectural windows, each gallerist curates their own space to create exceptional environments for collectors to enjoy the artworks on display.

How to Apply

Collect welcomes applications from galleries, dealers, memberships and registered groups who represent high quality contemporary craft by established artists and new talent. Individual artists are not eligible to apply (please see separate application for Collect Open).

You must complete all required fields in each section of the online application. You can fill out the application in stages, save and return to it. Please ensure all fields are correct before you press 'submit'. For help with using the application portal please contact: collect@craftscouncil.org.uk

Applying does not legally bind you to participation at this stage as selection and approval by the Advisory Panel is essential prior to confirmation of your participation.

Exhibitor Fees

Application fee

All entries are subject to a non-refundable application fee of £75 +VAT (£90 inc. VAT)

Exhibitor package includes:

  • Premium exhibition space at Somerset House 
  • Full gallery booth within Collect online fair on Artsy.net 
  • Allocation of invitations for VIP preview events
  • Inclusion in the Collectors’ Programme. Over 800 VIP partners visit the fair to host private tours with HNWI groups including private members clubs, arts patrons, art advisory and interiors contacts
  • Full marketing and social media campaign for the fair (Crafts Council combined social media reach 718k+)
  • Targeted PR campaign to arts, luxury and interiors HNW press
  • Feature on Collect fair Instagram
  • Full listing* on the Crafts Council website including 5 images with integrated enquiry buttons

Catalogue fee

The Catalogue is an essential publication, both in print and online, which forms part of the fair and is distributed to all VIPs, media, sponsors, general visitors and institutions. It is available digitally via the Crafts Council website ahead the fair and for six months beyond the fair.  All exhibitors *web listings will also remain on the website for six months.  All exhibitors pay a standard mandatory catalogue fee of £790 +VAT  

Each exhibitor receives a full colour double page spread, full contact details, up to 900 characters of copy description of the gallery, artist list and lead image.  

Stand fee

Stand space package is charged at £527 +VAT per m². Due to the varying sizes of rooms available at Somerset House, stands are offered in the following size ranges. Please be aware of the potential maximum financial commitment within each option.

  • 14 - 20m2 (£7,378 - £10,540 +VAT)* 
  • 21 - 29m2 (£11,067 - £15,283 +VAT)*
  • 30 - 39m2 (£15,810 - £20,553 +VAT)*
  • 40 - 49m2 (£21,080 - £25,823 +VAT)*
  • 50m2 + (£26,350 upwards +VAT)*

* Current UK VAT is charged at 20%. Please note: exhibitors based outside the UK are charged VAT at 0%

Discount and deadlines

Apply early and benefit from 10% reduction of stand fees (£475 +VAT per m²).

To be eligible for this discount Exhibitors must complete all fields and pay the non-refundable application fee by the preferential rate deadline of 10am Monday 24 July.

Fees revert to full price beyond this date and the final deadline for all applications is 10am Monday 07 August.

Shared space

Subject to availability and approval, up to two galleries can apply for a shared space at Collect provided the application is for a space 28m² or more in size. Please enter two applications with the ‘gallery name’ field marked as ‘Gallery X collaboration with Gallery Y’ on both applications. Enter a clear combined curatorial statement under ‘About you at Collect’.

Collect presents high quality craft by established artists and new talent that is recognised as having the potential to be a significant new voice. 

The Organiser is committed to anti-racism and equity and seeks to continue to increase the diversity of representation at the Event. Exhibitors are encouraged to seek representation from Black artists and artists of African or Caribbean heritage as part of their application as these have been historically under-represented at Collect.

All Exhibitors must comply with Exhibiting Guidelines and Criteria, which are used as the basis of the selection process with the Advisory Panel. Please ensure to read these carefully.

A.1. Evidence of international reputation of exhibitor (gallery, dealer, registered group etc.)

A.2. Prospective exhibitors must pass basic credit and identification checks prior to selection.

A.3.Quality, exclusivity and reputation of artists submitted for representation

A.3.1. Quality will be determined by

A.3.1.1. Artistic expression and intellectual content
A.3.1.2. Individuality and originality of ideas and development
A.3.1.3. Excellence in making, process and skill
A.3.1.4. Presence within significant private collections
A.3.1.5. Presence within public/ museum collections
A.3.1.6. Solo or major group shows
A.3.1.7. Recognition through significant prizes or major commissions

A.3.2. Exclusivity will be determined by:

A.3.2.1. Uniqueness/ rarity (understood as works which are produced as a ‘one off’)

A.3.2.2. Editions, in most cases, numbered, signed, limited editions. (Batch produced works are not permitted) 

A.3.2.3. Artist is not representing part of a wider commercial brand or business

Extract from Schedule 1, section D: Works to be exhibited, 

80% of the works on the stand must have been made on or after 1st January 2019. At least a third of this work must have been made in the year before the fair, i.e. on or after 01 January 2023. In addition, we require a significant number of works displayed to be by artists who are exhibiting at the fair for the first time. The remaining quota of 20% allows the potential to present older/historical works, if wished but is not compulsory. The curatorial rationale for inclusion of such works must be clearly outlined as part of application and can only be accepted on this basis.”
