Open Call: Family Learning Station
This year the Crafts Council Gallery will open its doors to the public on Pentonville Road, Angel, Islington. Alongside our exhibition and public programme of talks, events and workshops, there will be self-directed family activities available on a daily basis to keep little hands busy and engaged.
The Crafts Council has been chosen as the recipient of the Richard Seager Award, to celebrate our 50th anniversary. We are now looking for an emerging maker or designer to respond to our brief and create a Family Learning Station to be used and enjoyed at the Crafts Council Gallery.
At the Crafts Council we aim to inspire making, empower learning and nurture craft businesses; we believe everyone should enjoy craft and have access to free creative learning tools and resources. We aim to live by three core values across all our activity:
- Pioneering – we challenge ourselves and find new routes forward
- Open – we listen and value feedback, we encourage different ideas and voices
- Playful – we don’t take ourselves too seriously and experiment with different approaches
The station will provide a clear and visible sign that we are a warm, welcoming, and family friendly space.
